Together with PT. Sumber Djaja Perkasa from Sidoarjo, Indonesia, Upp! will set up the first pilot Upp! Circular Plastic Factory in Southeast Asia. With locally sourced low-value mixed plastic waste we will manufacture drainage systems and construction materials for the local market.

  • Part of the MVO-Nederland led “Plastic in Circles” program for plastic waste value chain solutions in Indonesia
  • Tasks:
    • Set up an Upp! Circular Plastic Factory processing regionally sourced low-value mixed plastic waste into robust and recyclable products (drainage systems and construction materials) for the regional market
    • Add to and strengthen the regional waste management and recycling infrastructure and regional circular economy
    • Provide a solution for the problem streams of plastic waste currently ending up being burned, landfilled, and in the environment.
  • Technical: capacity 5000-7000 ton per annum (1st phase), start-up: Q1 2024
  • Funding & financing: the Alliance to End Plastic Waste as Lead Sponsor (phase 1) and others.
